Springboard Engineering decided to do things a little differently this year to honor the country's birthday by building a float for Newton's fourth of July parade. This year's theme was "Newton, A Community United". Hours of planning and building paid off as Springboard won first place with its entry depicting the community as a series of rotating gears with each gear being a specific segment of the community. The float was decked out in red, white and blue and even had John Philip Sousa playing in the background. Employees and family members walked and skated alongside handing out candy to the enthusiastic crowd. All agreed it was a great way to celebrate the fourth and participate in the community!
Thanks to Ambassador Steel in Newton for storing our entry prior to parade kick off , First Newton National Bank for sponsoring the awards and the Newton Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring a great event.
