Statistical Approach


 

The Springboard Engineering reliability laboratory takes a statistical approach to product testing. The reports are not opinions: they are facts based on data analysis.  Springboard Engineering uses advanced tools like Mini Tab statistical software to analyze the data, Weibull analysis, Tukey tests, and Design of Experiments (DOE) to ensure your product satisfies the reliability requirements and accurate estimates of reliability are reached. Other test parameters like infant mortality, useful life, and long term durability are also driven by the extensive use of statistics.


 

When you receive a test report form Springboard Engineering the data analysis is already complete, recommendations are given, conclusions drawn, and data is displayed in standard statistical language.


 

As the customer, you can focus resources on decisions and results rather than manipulating and analyzing the test data.

HALT and ALT


 

The techniques of Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) or Accelerated Life Test (ALT) have been refined and developed through decades of "on the job" experience to establish the correlation of application requirements in the real world.  There is no point to a reliability test that does not obtain correlation to the real world application.


 

UL Safety Testing


 

Springboard Engineering has vast experience in regulatory agencies compliance, especially UL safety testing.  As part of our heritage, Springboard Engineering associates have been trained to perform many self compliance UL testing services. We have the experience and contacts to make your safety testing needs smooth and efficient.


 

Springboard Engineering provides pre UL submission audits for your company to ensure document compliance in order to successfully pass the UL scrutiny the first time.  This service will lead to the fastest and lowest cost solution certification process.


 

Recently, Springboard Engineering has passed the rigorous UL compliance audit for ISO17025 and has become an independent third party test lab for Underwriters Laboratory (UL).

ECAT and ESD Testing


 

Springboard Engineering is equipped with ECAT (Expert Computer Aided Testing) and ESD (ElectroStatic Discharge) equipment capable of comprehensively testing your products for susceptibility to pulsed EMI events and discharge conditions. We can help you test your products to IEC 61000-4-4 , IEC 61000-4-5 and IEC 61000-4-11 standards.

We use Thermo Fisher Scientific (formerly known as KeyTek) ECAT equipment consisting of:

E103 Control center - VFP and fiber optic interface and control, operating under Windows application software version 5.30.

E411 EFT Simulator module - For transients up to 4.4 kV

E501B Surge module –1.2/50us, 8/20us Combination Wave to 6 kV, 3 kA (compatible with CM-I/OCD and CM-TELCD coupler/decouplers)

E503 Surge simulator module - Ring Wave to 6 kV: 0.5us/100 kHz at 200A and 500A max

E4554A Surge EFT Coupler/Decoupler - Three-phase, 480 VRMS, 32A for up to 7 kV Surge and 8 kV EFT waves

EP3 Phase selector – Selects one of three phases for sag, swell and power interruption tests

EP62 PQF (Power Quality Failure) module - Voltage sags, swells, and open/short interruptions on single-phase AC power mains up to 250V, 32A


 

ESD Equipment

We use TESEQ (formerly Schaffner) ESD equipment consisting of:

NSG438 comprehensive ESD simulation system for air and contact discharge from 200 V to 30 kV
